SECURITY & DATA PRACTICES

Clear access boundaries. Deliberate information sharing.

Legal work needs clear decisions about who can see information, who can act on it and what can be shared outside the team. LitDesk’s product approach brings those decisions into permissions, review workflows and party access.

The controls below describe LitDesk’s documented product approach. Confirm their availability and your organisation’s requirements during evaluation.

Define access around each person’s role.

LitDesk’s permission model governs staff access and actions within the organisation workspace. Approval workflows and separation of duties support processes where preparing work and reviewing it belong to different people.

Access should be configured around the responsibilities of the team using the platform.

Keep changes connected to the working record.

Document versions, comments and audit history help teams follow the record as work progresses. Immutable document versions preserve earlier versions rather than silently replacing them.

These capabilities support traceability within the product, without guaranteeing legal admissibility or comprehensive compliance.

Publish selected information through LitDeskConnect.

Clients and other parties receive a case-specific view of information the team explicitly publishes. This view is separate from the staff workspace.

Ordinary party access ends when closure, transfer or external handoff is completed. Where explicitly granted, a separate download of one uploaded verdict version may remain available after closure. Reopening a matter does not automatically restore previous access grants.

Bring your organisation’s requirements into the evaluation.

Before adopting any legal software, your team may need to review the technical, operational and contractual arrangements that apply to its use.

  • Hosting and data location.
  • Backup, recovery and retention arrangements.
  • Authentication and access requirements.
  • Support access and incident handling.
  • Available security documentation and contractual terms.
